Anyone who's ever picked up an Osprey Men-at-Arms series book relating to any of the WWI powers would see that there is a metric shit-tonne of stuff that could be monetised in there. Presumably they've looked at this but I would have thought that a DLC customisation model that either made maps free (heck, even keep the paywall for weapons) or substantially cheaper would've been perfect. This isn't about aping models of DLC employed by very different games (you've mentioned Overwatch R6S is another one) but finding something that works where the main aim is keeping a strong, unified community. The Premium model is failing and when it's all about player numbers, all this does is kill things when numbers have already fallen off somewhat. I'm rather bummed out that DICE haven't been able to see beyond a DLC paradigm that's been showing its age with over a year now.
